(Costa Rica) – Day 3, Part Three – April 25th, 2009

Finally working on some more pictures, but I’m going to change how I post them. I’ll be posting pictures that relate to each other, so a day might be broken up into many parts. :)   Later on I might even switch to posting a picture a day. I’ll see how things go….

So now we’re leaving the market, and driving back to our hotel so we can have an early lunch with the pupusas we bought.  The following pictures are all shot from the car. Lots of fun.

People leaving the central hospital.

The basic layout of any city in Costa Rica includes a park and a church in the center of the city. Although this wasn’t the central park, it’s pretty similar and gives you an idea of how grand they can be.

This one I really like because it shows the business of downtown San Jose.  See the street name Avenida 2? I bet the people standing at this corner wouldn’t know that. No one knows street names, they just describe things by landmarks and distance (100 meters = one block). Only tourists (like us) tried to get around by using street names, which failed horribly at times.

A juxtaposition of old and new billboards. Do you also see the Chinese letters to the left on the blue building?!

I like this one a lot. Don’t know why, I just do. Click on this picture to get a link to view it on black, it’ll look a lot better that way!
Edit: Nevermind, my background here is black. Duhr. Click on it so I can have views. :P

I tried this beer near the end of the trip and it sucked. Tasted like Red Bull, but it’s actually much better than the other flavored beer Rock Ice offers, Limon. That was like drinking salty carbonated beer. Avoid at all costs!

Finally some real “street food”, but alas we were driving and could not stop to get some.
